The Giddings girls powerlifting state qualifiers traveled to Frisco Texas on Friday March 17th to compete at the Texas Girls State Powerlifting Championship for 2023. There were nine competitors and five came home with medals the most in Giddings Powerlifting history.
The top lifters were:
Kayla Herrera finished in eleven place in the 123 lbs class with a personal best total of 750 lbs.
Reese Weiser finished 8th in her class with a personal best total of 785 lbs.
Carlie Weiser finished 4th in her class with a personal best total of 910 lbs.
Avery Mueller finished 4th in her class with a total of 845 lbs.
Jaiden Saucedo finished in 5th place with a personal best total of 940 lbs.
Ariana Ramirez finished in 6th place in her class with a total of 950 lbs.
Ariel Knox finished 4th in her class with a total of 990 lbs.
Addison Davis finished in 12th place in her class with a personal best total of 830lbs.
Adriana Garcia finished 2nd in her class with a total of 1055 lbs.
The girls team finished tied for 5th place overall. This was another outstanding year for the Giddings girls powerlifting team.
The boys team will be well represented by Jusiah Sampleton at the Boys State powerlifting championship this Friday March 23rd in Abilene Texas. Jusiah Sampleton will be competing in the 308 lbs. weight class and is currently rank number one in his class.
