Giddings ISD is taking nominations for the Gifted and Talented program for the 2022-2023 school year. Parents, teachers, and community members may nominate students currently enrolled in Giddings ISD to participate in the screening process to determine eligibility for the gifted program. Nomination forms are available in the office on each Giddings ISD campus or online at the Giddings ISD website https://www.giddingsisd.net/o/giddings-isd/browse/71453 .

We are in the final days of a Food Drive sponsored by the GMS Beta Club. Donations will benefit Meals on Wheels Rural Capital Area Senior Nutrition Program. Drop off your canned food and non-perishable items at Giddings Middle School through Friday, Dec. 10.
*** GHS Pre-Concert Dinner *** The GHS Chess Club is sponsoring a pre-concert meal fundraiser that will take place before the GISD band concert on Tuesday, Dec. 14. Plates are $10 and will be dine-in or to-go. Serving will be 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. The main course will be schnitzel with onion-cream pepper gravy. Sides include spaetzle and glazed carrots. The salad will be marinated cucumber and tomato. Dessert, tea & water will be available. The meal will be prepared by Chef John Anderson of The Giddings Brewhaus. REMINDER TO GMS / GHS PARENTS Regarding participation in UIL activities (sports, band) after COVID Diagnosis
Although a student may return to school after the appropriate conditions have been met for time of exclusion, UIL rules state “a student who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 must receive clearance from a physician, or a physician-approved delegate prior to returning to participation in UIL marching band or athletic activities.” A special form is available from your child’s coach or band director. It must be completed by a physician and returned to the coach or band director before participation (practice or play) can resume.
